My journey into pet sitting

I started AnyBuddy Pet Sitting with a clear purpose: to gain invaluable experience for my future career as a veterinarian. Beyond that, my deep love for animals drives everything I do. There's truly nothing about caring for pets that feels like a chore; every moment is a joy and a privilege. Their safety and comfort are my top priority, and I strive to make every interaction a positive one.

Lessons from my own fur (and feather) family

My household is a lively place, filled with my own wonderful pets who teach me something new every day:

  • Petey: My 7-year-old Boston Terrier, Petey, was my first pet and is the sweetest boy who loves everyone.
  • Baxter: Around 5 years old, Baxter is a Boxer who's a big baby at heart and definitely has a favorite person (it's not always me!).
  • Bob: My sister's guinea pig, Bob, is still settling in but has a remarkable appetite for everything, including his bedding.
  • Rio: My 5-month-old budgie, Rio, is incredibly goofy and adorable. I can't wait until he's fully tamed so we can spend more time together.
  • Ms. Kitty: This orange cat, whose age is a mystery, lives with my grandparents. She transitioned from a wild cat to a very domesticated one and loves attention, even if her shedding is a constant reminder of her presence!

Caring for this diverse crew has provided me with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of various animal behaviors and needs.

My hands-on animal experience

With four out of five pets living in my home, I'm constantly engaged in animal care. I take on almost all the responsibilities for my sister's guinea pig, Bob, ensuring he's happy and healthy. For my bird, Rio, I handle all his daily needs, from feeding and cleaning to enrichment. This daily immersion in caring for various species has honed my skills and deepened my understanding of what it takes to be a great pet sitter.
